Service Description

Vinyasa emphasizes breath-paired movement, creating a moving meditation experience. It is a synchronized method of coiling and uncoiling the body, to balance opposing tendencies, move prana and create heat. Classes are dynamic and well-balanced, creating space for discipline and play. Yoga can be challenging to body and mind and may bring up emotion, you have the invitation to rest at anytime. Mixed-Level Vinyasa welcomes practitioners of all levels who seek a more challenging yoga experience. The intensity of the class varies based on students' abilities and the energy of the day. We begin slowly to establish breath and mindfulness, warm up our spines and joints with dynamic floor movements, and review correct alignment for vinyasas. The practice intensifies with invigorating sun salutations and a strong standing sequence, often incorporating balancing poses and sometimes an arm balance. Finally, we transition back to the floor for stretching, cooling down, and a closing relaxation. My vinyasa classes are inclusive and accessible. I emphasize breath consistency and focused inward attention to facilitate a moving meditation. My background in Ashtanga, Functional yoga, massage, and energy work influence my style of teaching. I always pull from the students to shape an intuitive vinyasa practice rooted in wisdom and grace. Expect variations on postures and tips on alignment to create a comfortable and safe experience for your body. I will challenge you to explore your edge and encourage you to trust your internal wisdom, knowing when to push forward and when to pull back. Mats, blocks, and straps are provided or you are welcome to bring your own.
